Privacy Policy

Desk Boo ("we", "us") provides booking pages and an AI front desk for appointment-based businesses ("providers"). This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address, business name, booking link (slug), trade, and timezone.
• Business content: services, prices, availability, policies, and photos you add to your booking page.
• Connected accounts (optional): if you connect Instagram, Google Calendar/Gmail, or iCloud Calendar, we store the access tokens and the data needed to provide the service — for Instagram, your profile info, media, and insights; for Google/Apple, calendar events and email threads you ask us to manage.
• Customer booking data: when your customers request appointments through your Desk Boo page, we collect the contact details they provide (Instagram handle, phone, or email) plus the requested service, date, and time.
• Usage data: basic logs (pages visited, API calls) used for security and reliability.

2. How we use it

• To operate your public booking page and process booking requests.
• To power your AI front-desk assistant, which answers your customers' questions using your business info.
• To sync your calendars, draft message replies for your review, and surface booking analytics.
• To bill your subscription via our payment processor.

We do not sell your personal data or your customers' data. We do not use Instagram data for advertising.

3. Data sharing

• OpenAI: chat messages are processed by OpenAI's API to generate assistant replies. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
• Stripe: payment details are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Connected platforms: Google, Meta (Instagram), and Apple receive only the API calls needed for the features you enable.
• Legal: we disclose data only when required by law.

4. Instagram data

If you connect Instagram, we access your business profile, media, and insights solely to import your business info, personalize your AI assistant, and show you performance analytics. You can disconnect Instagram at any time from your dashboard; we delete the stored tokens and stop collecting new data.

5. Amazon recommendations

Desk Boo may offer a pre-made product list (“Boo’s default shop”) relevant to your trade. If you enable it, links are tagged with Desk Boo’s Amazon Associates ID. Commissions from those clicks and purchases are paid to Desk Boo, not to you. You can disable the list at any time or replace it with your own Associates tag and product links. Clients always pay Amazon, never Desk Boo. We do not receive your clients’ Amazon account data.

6. Data retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. When you cancel, your public booking page goes offline and we delete your business data within 30 days, except where the law requires longer retention (e.g., billing records).

7. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens and secrets are stored encrypted and never exposed in client-side code.

8. Children

Desk Boo is for business use and is not directed at children under 13.

9. Changes

We will post any policy changes on this page and update the effective date.
